INVISALIGN #2: Temporary Anchorage Devices(aka TADs), Elastics & Aligner #2

HELLO !!

Im probably going to write a few short blogs and then set a timer so they post on specific days. Anyways this blog is about my TADs and Invisalign attachments experience.

28/02/19 - TADs appointment: So after the first set of aligners which were put on the Monday, I went to get the screws done on a Thursday and made another orthodontist appointment for the Monday after.  For the TADs we had to go to a specialist to get them done. They were $250 each rip money. BUT LET ME TELL YOU.

TADs HURT.

More specifically the moment the anaesthetic wears off which for me was immediately after I left the clinic. We were literally downstairs and then I could feel my entire mouth just ache like crazy. TBH not I dont even think it was an ache it was like my jaw was being ripped apart from my face (NOCE DESCRIPTION TIFFANY).

Anaesthetic was painful(cause needle to gums so like hmmm) like there were tears natural body reflex to pain. He then cut a bit of my gums to make an incision and start screwing them in. When its numb you dont feel pain just pressure. He struggled with getting one side in cause he be like my bones are thick as but then the other side went in easily. He gave me a tiny strip of wax like half cause he used half to put on the screws so they wouldn't cause ulcers on my gums. But like cheap bich.. I need to last till Monday😡 SO YEAH BY THE TIME I GOT OUT THE CLINIC I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN.

Thank god i went with my mum, i was in so much pain i was honestly dizzy. It was a really, really bad ache. My mum gave me Panadol and i went to her shop and took a nap. After nap, pain was tolerable and i was able to eat my beloved soft egg and beef rice noodles. Maybe not the beef cause ya gurl cant chew properly cause she doesn't want food to get stuck in the sockets from her extracted teeth.

The screws were put in between the front and second teeth. There was quite abit of blood, it took a while to clot just like last time with my teeth extractions.. HMMM. But after blood clotted and few days passed, when I check my screws I could see a cut just right under the right one.. Must be why it kept bleeding cause a chunk of gum was gone.

4/03/19: Anyways the Monday came around, i went back to see the orthodontist and he put some attachments on my teeth AND MY GOD, no attachments vs attachments were so different. For starters, the first two days it was painful to take my aligners off. Like aligner #2 were made to fit the attachments so every time i took them off they would kinda get stuck on the attachments so when i pull them off i have to be careful. Not like the first set when there was nothing i could just take them off very easily.

He also tried to put elastics on my TADs but cause my gums were still swollen and painful, when he managed the get the elastics on, the elastics would sit on the gum (Great feeling indeed) and I would just be in pain.. So he told me to leave the elastics until its less painful and swollen and then try again..
My TADs looks like this btw ⤵

11/03/19: I did salt rinses every single day so help with the swelling and healing so that literally one week I could try to put the elastics on. BUT

ITS CUTTING INTO MY GUM. LIKE ONE SIDE IS FINE BUT THE OTHER ONE IS LITERALLY CUTTING IN. It stopped stinging and hurting after a few seconds so I thought okay its fine. So I went to bed and the next morning when I went to change the elastics, there was a 'line' or dent from where the elastics were and it was bleeding O.O

I called my orthodontist and they told me if one doesn't hurt then I can just wear on one side and when the other is ready then i can wear both side. Its up to me. But then the other one will have to catch up. I ended up wearing one for a while but then was like hmm best not to, i dont want an uneven smile
